Below are two images taken by Donald Ford, one of Scotland's leading photographers. Here's what he has to say about his impromptu visit.

The fantastic autumn light which I got was a complete stroke of luck. I had been heading into Moray and Banff to finish off photographing courses for a new publication. Keith was the proposed first stop, but as I headed up through Aberdeenshire as dawn was breaking it was obvious that it was under cloud cover. I took a left turn onto the minor road to Dufftown and couldn't believe the light as I reached the car park at the golf club. I had to summon HUGE amounts of (long lost!) speed to get up the hill to the second green before the mist, sunlight and overall effect of the atmospheric conditions were lost. It was one of these occasions when the photographer KNEW he had something special. The light on the course and the surrounding landscape was just magnificent.
